Patrick Michael
Patrick is an award-winning screenwriter and director based in Los Angeles. While studying pre-med at the University of Washington, he discovered his passion for storytelling, ultimately earning an MFA from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
Inspired by filmmakers like Charles Burnett and Lynne Ramsay, his work explores identity, memory, and transformation; crafting stories that blur the line between the personal and the universal.
His latest film, Black Silk, screened in competition, including at the Atlanta and Seattle International film festivals, and was awarded the grand jury prize at dances with films La.
Beyond filmmaking, Patrick mentors emerging creatives, fostering talent and championing fresh perspectives in visual storytelling.

There, he co-directed an upcoming feature reimaging of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and his thesis film JURASSIC PUNK was honored with both the Jack Nicholson Directing Award and the First Look Outstanding Screenwriting Award. An Shu is a director and cinematographer from Chengdu, China, with a Master’s degree in Film & Television Production from USC.
Her passion for storytelling began during her early travels across Europe, where she discovered the power of film as a bridge between cultures. After earning her degree from the Communication University of China, she spent three years at Phoenix TV as a journalist and writer-director; an experience that deepened her understanding of the world and the people in it.
Beyond filmmaking, she finds inspiration in playing the piano, practicing archery, and indulging in the bold flavors of Sichuan cuisine.

Tyler is a writer-director and USC alum drawn to stories about outcasts—and especially to stories that love their Black characters. His film For My Crimes screened at the Cleveland International Film Festival, where he now facilitates Q&As.
Inspired by his late grandfather’s boundless creativity, Tyler’s first artistic passion was music. He released his debut EP, Erupt, in 2019 on his grandfather’s first birthday among the stars—a tribute to the man who taught him that art can take many forms.
Tyler loves riding trains across the country and hates wearing his hair ungreased in the sun. He lives in LA but misses his family in Cleveland.

Devon is a cinematographer whose portfolio encompasses a wide variety of genres, styles, and tones. He is passionate about pushing his creative boundaries to tackle different visual approaches and is especially looking to work alongside directors with distinct voices and unique points of view. Devon earned an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling.
Since then, he has worked on two narrative feature films, as well as dozens of shorts. His work has been recognized at more than 50 film festivals worldwide, including the 2024 Telluride Film Festival, the 2024 DGA Student Film Awards, the 2025 College Television Awards, and the 2024 Student Academy Awards.
